Thank you Ed for continuing to spread the word that we, the 99ers are in desperate need of help. It feels so hoplesss for us but we can not give up hope. Please continue to speak for us. So many of us don't even have access to the internet, phones or much else. Our government wants us to just go away but we are here and we deserve to be heard and to be helped. I am a 53 yr old single female with a BBA in accounting and years of experience. I have worked since I was 9 yrs old but now for the first time in my life I can not get a job. I am praying, trying to remain strong and upbeat but we need help. Thank you again for doing what you are doing by keeping us in the news. May God bless you for it.

Ed,

I think you had the right idea when you proposed "Write government checks and send the bill to BP" - It would mean so much to progressives, those who don't believe in smaller ineffective government (or as Keith Olbermann says, not the "something for nothing crowd"). Also, Ed contained within your proposal is the answer to managing the oil spill clean up. If the government had or developed the capacity to clean up large oil spills or other large scale man-made disasters and bills the offenders for the clean up, it would send an even greater signal that our government cares for us and where we live. If you notice, municipalities do things like that and all politics is local. Being in construction, you know that if a property is overgrown with weeds or debris, the government will hire a contractor or use the municipal crew, clean it up and send the bill to the property owner. If they don't pay, a lien is placed on the property and it must be paid before the property is sold or the government will sell the property to settle the lien. For BP, a lien would amount to a huge fine that must be paid before any shareholder gets a penny.
Thanks for such great ideas, Ed; Obama and his cronies should listen to you! Keep up the great work!

Why would anyone support Union thugs (er leaders)!
Why is our economy like it is? Union policies and rules are one of the big reasons along with Barney Frank and his "everyone should have a mortgage" policy.

Vote them all out in November, especially anyone who supports crooked unions.

Only fools ignore "Condemned", "Police Line - Do Not Cross" and "Danger" signs ... and after they violate them, they become corpses. Let's see, union leaders represent the working people in the industry -the majority. Businessmen represent stockholders or owners in an industry -the minority. Politically, there are more Democrats in the country - the majority and fewer republicans (and tea partiers) - the minority. The US political system is based on the majority, i.e., "We the People". Anyone who does not support unions and its leaders is engaging in pure psycho talk! (Thanks for the words, Ed)! Why do you think the US economy is in so much trouble? - crooked businessmen, not Barney Frank, not everyone who has a mortgage or wants everyone to have a mortgage.

Vote everyone out in November that does not support unions and increase the Democratic majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate!

Then, "We, the People" will get what we want- a more perfect UNION.
